Cahill doubtful for City cup clash

Chelsea turn their attention away from league matters this weekend, as they face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon in the fifth round of this seasons FA Cup.

Gary Cahill may miss out after suffering a calf injury in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at West Bromwich Albion, so David Luiz is ready to deputise alongside John Terry, who should be available after missing the past two games with a minor knock.

The sides met in the league just eleven days ago, with Branislav Ivanovic scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win for the Blues, while it was City who emerged victorious the last time they met in the cup, at Wembley in last season’s semi-final.

Meanwhile, Blues boss Jose Mourinho believes that Ashley Cole should be part of England’s World Cup squad this summer, despite losing his place as a first team regular at club level, Sky Sports understands.

Earlier this week, Three Lions’ manager Roy Hodgson suggested that the 33 year old may miss out on travelling to Brazil due to his lack of game time.

The left back, whose contract expires at the end of the season, has been linked with a move to both Liverpool and Arsenal.
