We keep things simple
The site does not use analytics, advertising trackers, tracking pixels or ad networks.
When you get in touch
The contact form asks for your name, email address, topic and message. We use these only to reply to you. They are sent to the site team and kept just long enough to deal with your message.
Keeping spam away
To stop spam, we turn your IP address into a one-way code and keep it for about an hour. This limits how many messages can be sent. We do not store the IP address itself.
Messages are checked by an automated service called Grok from xAI to help tell real messages from spam.
Cookies on the site
The site only sets cookies for people who log in to manage it.
Pictures and posts from elsewhere
Some pages show pictures and posts from X (Twitter), and may include content from Facebook, Bluesky or YouTube. Those services can see your IP address and may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
Sharing new articles
New articles are shared to the site’s own social media pages. No visitor data is passed to them.
Your data rights
If you are in the UK or EU, you can ask what personal data we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted, using the contact page. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
