England international Ben Chilwell has expressed his delight after making the switch to Chelsea from fellow Premier League side Leicester City. The left-back was on the radar of Frank Lampard since the beginning of the year and the Blues finally landed his signature after agreeing on an initial fee of £50m with the Foxes.
He has now put pen-to-paper on a five-year contract with the west London outfit and is looking forward to working with the young and dynamic squad at Stamford Bridge, he told the club’s official website: “I am delighted to be joining Chelsea at this very exciting time for the club. I’m looking forward to being a part of this young, dynamic squad led by Frank Lampard as we challenge for honours next season. Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has denied the speculations regarding the interest of the club on Angel Gomes who has departed from Manchester United and they have also denied any interest on the West Ham United footballer Declan Rice.
Gomes has cut down the ties with Manchester United as he didn’t agree with the renewed contract with the club and ended being free transfer.
