José Mourinho has dismissed suggestions that John Terry is no longer the first team choices

Chelsea boss José Mourinho has dismissed suggestions that John Terry is no longer the first team choices that he has been for more than a decade.

Terry was recently dropped to the bench for the Champions League game againstMaccabi Tel Aviv. Chelsea’s disastrous form at the start of the season was thought to be the reason behind this decision from Mourinho. After securing a comfortable 4-0 win with Kurt Zouma and Gary Cahill at the back, Mourinho went on to keep Terry on the bench for the crucial league encounter against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.

His decision to keep Terry on the bench was viewed with surprise at the start of the game, but not many questioned it after the 2-0 win that was achieved with Zouma and Eden Hazard on the scoresheet. Now, many believe that the time of Terry has come to an end, but Mourinho says that it is not the case and that the 34-year-old is still his important player. Terry signed a 12 month extension to his contract only in the summer. He will consider his future in the next few months with speculation that the former England captain made decide to join the MLS for one final hurrah. Continue reading

Eden Hazard says that he has had several arguments with manager José Mourinho

Chelsea star midfielder Eden Hazard says that he has had several arguments with manager José Mourinho, but he has ruled out any issues with the Portuguese. Just like in any other relationship, the manager and the player have had some disagreements that especially cropped up in the 2013-14 season.Hazard was publicly criticised by Mourinho for being responsible for the 3-1 semi-final defeat against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. The failure on the part of the Belgian to track his opponent led to several goals. Since then,Hazard has been a player transformed and the 24-year-old managed to win a clean sweep of all the individual accolades last season.

The newly crowned PFA Player of the Year refused to rule out the lack of disagreements in his relationship with Mourinho, but he thinks that the Portuguese has made him a better player overall. In the 38 league matches last season,Hazard came up with 14 goals and an impressive nine assists. He was one of the players to have played in every match of the league. Mourinho has constantly stated thatHazard will be forgotten if he does not make an impact in every match he plays. After an inconsistent couple of seasons,Hazard says that he is now making an impact in every match. Continue reading

Jose Mourinho wasnt completely wrong

A lot of people might not agree to Jose Mourinho’s statements that he made in the press conference after his team’s away game against Southampton last weekend, but, what he said was not completely wrong.

Well, he is someone who speaks pretty directly and that’s why, he does not sound good at times, but, if he thinks that something wrong is being done to  his side deliberately, he has every right to speak about it.

It was a clear case of penalty when the Southampton player Matt Targett fouled that evening at St Mary, but, the referee made the call against the Blues and this is not the first time that Chelsea has got such a decision in the ongoing league. It has happened to them many a time.

For Instance, during the game versus Manchester United, their players were frequently being shown yellow card, while, the Red Devils were getting away and even that day, Mourinho had looked dissatisfied with the referee’s decisions.

The Portuguese had not come down hard that day though while he faced the media. He had maintained his cool, but, not on Sunday. He was absolutely fuming and very clearly said what he felt.

He has obviously been criticized by the supporters of other clubs and also by some of the former footballer who believe that the match officials have been fair in all the games, but, it’s important for people to understand that Mourinho has reacted this way after getting a number of bad decisions.

If the penalty was given to Fabregas, there was 90% chance of Chelsea getting ahead in that Southampton game and winning it.

Similarly, if Chelsea had not been reduced to 10 players at Old Trafford, they might have won there as well. So, the referees’ decisions have cost Mourinho points and no manager in the world would like that.

Mourinho Looks Like a Gambler Who Has Discovered Net Ent Casinos

Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea look unstoppable this season and he has laid down the gauntlet to his title rivals by suggesting that his team can take anything that they throw at them. After last season’s false start, Mourinho really looks to have found the right formula this time round. Continue reading

Hard to argue against Mourinho’s title claim

Jose Mourinho made the not-so-bold claim last week that this Chelsea squad has what it takes to win the Premier League this season. Having played down his side’s chances of success last term, the ‘Special One’ seems much happier having made changes to his squad this summer.

Mourinho has made four additions to his team, all of whom would appear to have a big part to play in Chelsea’s season. Diego Costa is likely to continue as the focal point of Chelsea’s attack after scoring against Burnley on his competitive debut, while Cesc Fabregas is expected to fill the big shoes of Frank Lampard in midfield after his fine assist for the Blues’ second goal at Turf Moor. The Blues are now 6/4 favourites with Paddy Power to win the title come next May.

Filipe Luis was one of the best defenders in Europe last season and will only improve a strong backline, while Didier Drogba’s return could be a stroke of genius if he can chip in a few vital goals from the bench.

Chelsea also have something of a new signing in Thibaut Courtois, who looks to have the potential to be better than Petr Cech, who is now 9/4 to leave for Monaco.

The Blues look to be very strong in every area of the pitch now, with Mourinho having a quality reserve to fill the void should one of his main stars be unable to play. You only have to look at the players Mourinho let go this summer to see how much faith he has in his squad.

He allowed stalwarts Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard to go, while Romelu Lukaku was sold to a rival in Everton. The transfer of David Luiz to Paris Saint-Germain is perhaps Mourinho’s finest work in the transfer window, though, given the fee the French side paid and the scars Luiz carries from the World Cup.

If you match Chelsea’s squad up with any of their title rivals, the strength in depth is there for all to see. Only Manchester City can boast a squad that can match the Blues in terms of quality in every department. Therefore, it stands to reason that it will be City and Chelsea fighting it out for the title again this season, with the rest someway behind.

MOURINHO WANTS CHANGES

It looks like the Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho would be quite busy during the summer transfer window. He has hinted that he would be offloading some of the superstars so that he can get enough money to secure the services of the players that he wants.

Quite a few big names have proved to be completely flop at the Stamford Bridge this season. One of them is Fernando Torres and if the reports are to be believed, the Spaniard would, in all likelihood, be on his way to some other club in summer. Continue reading

BLUES NEED STRIKERS

This summer has been an eventful one at Stamford Bridge. When the protracted saga surrounding the arrival of Jose Mourinho for his second spell in charge of Chelsea finally ended, new signings were made to try and freshen up a squad which was ageing in certain areas.

While the addition of both Andre Schurrle from Bayer Leverkusen and promising Dutch youngster Marco van Ginkel from Vitesse Arnhem bode well for the future, there is one area where the Blues seem pretty short – up front. Although Romelu Lukaku has returned from his loan spell at West Bromwich Albion, the rest of the forward line looks a little less impressive. Continue reading
