It looks like the Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho would be quite busy during the summer transfer window. He has hinted that he would be offloading some of the superstars so that he can get enough money to secure the services of the players that he wants.
Quite a few big names have proved to be completely flop at the Stamford Bridge this season. One of them is Fernando Torres and if the reports are to be believed, the Spaniard would, in all likelihood, be on his way to some other club in summer.
However, considering Torres’ form in the recent past, it might happen that no club shows interest in him at all and in that case, Chelsea would probably be looking to place him on loan somewhere.
Torres has made 23 Premier league appearances for Chelsea in the ongoing season and has scored only 4 goals. This is pretty mediocre from a player who is rated very highly by the pundits of the game. According to Kashmobet, he is odds-on to move on in the summer.
Torres however hasn’t played as poorly as that in the Champions League. He has struck 4 times in 6 matches in that competition, but, overall, he has been disappointing for the Blues this season and that’s why, they want to get rid of him.
Chelsea had spent a lot of money to bring Torres to Stamford Bridge 3 years back, but, that faith hasn’t been repaid completely by the Spanish striker. A lot more was expected from him.
Some reports also say that Torres might be returning to his old club Atletico Madrid in summer.
Meanwhile, the other big names whom the Chelsea management is planning to offload after the ongoing season are Samuel Eto’o and David Luiz. These two also have been largely under par.
Chelsea currently stands at the second position in the League points table.
