CHELSEA TRIO OUT OF NORWICH GAME

The Chelsea attacking trio of RomeluLukaku, Christian Pulisic and Timo Werner have been ruled out of the Premier League encounter with Norwich City this weekend. Top spot recipients Chelsea take on bottom spot holders Norwich City at home in the first of the matchday games billed for Saturday in the English top flight and attackers Lukaku, Pulisic and Werner won’t be in the Blues squad for the game due to injury.

American international Pulisic has not played since he sustained anankle injury while he was on national team duty with the United States of America last month and he will miss the Norwich City game at Stamford Bridge later this week. Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel gave an update on his recovery from the injury in his pre-match presser on Friday ahead of the visit of the bottom club on the league table. According to the German, Pulisic was close to returning to full training before he had a little setback. The ex-Borussia Dortmund attacker could still return to action before the end of the month.

Tuchel also spoke about Werner and Lukaku who both went off injured during the Champions League home game with Malmo in midweek. German footballer Werner picked up an hamstring injury and had to be substituted during the game against the Swedish champions and he has been ruled out of the next two Chelsea games at least by his manager. The Chelsea boss also said the same thing for Lukaku who had to be subbed off against Malmo because of an ankle injury.

In the absence of both Lukaku and Werner, German international Kai Havertz is expected to start in attack for a Chelsea side that can go four points and five points clear of Liverpool and Manchester City respectively before theytake on Manchester United and Brighton & Hove Albion later this weekend.
