HOW CHELSEA MAY LINE UP AGAINST KRASNODAR

Chelsea have already qualified for the next round of the Champions League competition and are gearing up to play their last game of the Group Stage against Krasnodar. The London club have been in superb form this season and won their last two games with the scoreline of 1-4 against Sevilla in the Champions League and a 3-1 comeback win against Leeds United in the Premier League.

Frank Lampard will hope that his team finishes their Group stage not just as the leaders but also without suffering any defeat. While just a few of the Blues’ players are sidelined for the game, Lampard will be hoping to tweak things but not risk any of his star players as he hopes to keep them fit and raring to go in the next few weeks.

Team News

The Leeds United game saw Chelsea’s summer signing Hakim Ziyech suffer a hamstring injury, making him a serious doubt for the Champions League meeting. Since Chelsea play Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton next week, Lampard will be expected to rest some of his star players. So Olivier Giroud and Thiago Silva may be rested.

Predicted Lineup – Kepa, Kourt Zouma, Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger, Emerson Palmieri, Cesar Azpilicueta, Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic, Kai Havertz, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Christian Pulisic, Tammy Abraham

With a host of second-team players expected to make a claim for a spot in the first team by getting called back, they would be looking to impress their boss if they’re going to retain their place in the setup.

A very notable possible starter is Kepa. The goalkeeper has lost confidence and his starting berth to summer signing Edouard Mendy but will be given a chance of redemption by Lampard who wants to hand some confidence to the club-record signing.
