MORATA: I AM GOING NOWHERE

Chelsea star striker Alvaro Morata has had to publicly come out and re-pledge his desire to play for the club after appearing to say he wants to go back to Italy and finds living in London “too much stress”.

The Spanish international, who had previously spent two seasons in Italy with Juventus, was signed by the Blues in the summer from Real Madrid for a club-record £58m.

Blues thump Hammers to go third

A Frank Lampard double inspired Chelsea to victory against the England international’s former club West Ham United at Upton Park on Saturday evening.

The Blues al-time record goal scorer struck first from the penalty spot on 21 minutes after Oscar was brought down by Hammers goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.

Oscar himself doubled the visitors’ advantage, drilling home from the edge of the penalty area eleven minutes before the break.

Sam Allardyce’s men showed improvements in the second half, though the result was put beyond doubt by Lampard, who bagged his second of the evening late on to see the club leapfrog Southampton – who lost to leaders Arsenal earlier in the day – into third place.

Jose Mourinho’s men will now turn their attention to tomorrow evening’s trip to FC Basel, where they can secure first place Group E with victory while they host Southampton in their next league fixture on Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Juventus and Atletico Madrid are the latest sides to be linked with a January move for out of favour Chelsea forward Juan Mata, according to the Express.

The two times Blues Player of the Year was once again left out of the Blues match day squad at the weekend.

Cole ruled out of Poland game

Ashley Cole has been ruled out of England’s crucial World Cup qualifier against Poland tomorrow evening, as he struggles to recover from a rib injury, the Express understands.

The 32 year old sat out of the Three Lions’ 4-1 win over Montenegro on Friday evening having been substituted with the knock in the Blues win over Norwich City the previous weekend.

Roy Hodgson had been keen to have Cole available for the final group game, despite having a more than able back up to select in the shape of Everton’s Leighton Baines.

England will guarantee qualification for next summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil with three points at Wembley, while anything but victory will almost certainly see Ukraine – who play San Marino, leapfrog them into first place.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are considering a £25m move for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba in January, according to the Metro.

The France international moved to Turin last summer, after not being offered a contract with Manchester United – the club where he began his career.

He has since made almost fifty appearances for the Serie A Champions – scoring seven goals, and has  been capped for times by France manager and former Blues midfielder Didier Deschamps.
