Real confirm Mourinho exit

Real Madrid have confirmed that they will part company with head coach Jose Mourinho next month.

The announcement further enhances the possibility of the 50 year old returning to Stamford Bridge for next season, with bookmakers now making The Special One a 1/20 chance to become the next Blues boss.

The news will be welcomed by top scorer Fernando Torres, who told the London Evening Standard that “every player” wants to play under Mourinho, who originally left the club in 2007.

Incidentally, Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola is next in the line with the bookmakers at a best price of 28/1, ahead of his Watford side’s participation in next Monday’s Championship play-off final against Crystal Palace at Wembley.

Meanwhile, Napoli forward Edison Cavani could move to Manchester City in a deal that would see Edin Dzeko and a fee move in the opposite direction.

Cavani has also long been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, but it appears that City currently have the edge.

Elsewhere, midfielder Florent Malouda has revealed that the will be moving on, having revealed that he will be playing first team football elsewhere next year.

The 32 year old spent the whole of last season in the reserves after a dispute with the clubs hierarchy.
