No new injury problems ahead of Newcastle clash

Chelsea have no fresh injury concerns for Saturday afternoon’s visit of Newcastle United.

The game is likely to come too soon for Fernando Torres, who has missed the last three matches with a back problem while Marco van Ginkel is out for the rest of the season.

Three points for Jose Mourinho’s men could see them return to the top of the table if Arsenal fail to beat Liverpool earlier in the day, and Manchester City drop points at Norwich City.

Alan Pardew’s side are one of three to have beaten the Blues in the league so far this season, with goals from Yohan Goufrann and Loic Remy securing all three points for the hosts at St James’ Park back in November while last season’s corresponding fixture ended in a 2-0 victory for Chelsea.

Meanwhile, the club will make a big money move for Liverpool’s Luis Suarez when the transfer window reopens, the Metro understands.

The Uruguay international signed a new contract earlier in the season having been strongly linked with a move away from Anfield in the summer, though it is believed that an exit could be on the cards for the Premier League’s top scorer if the Merseyside club miss out on qualifying for the Champions League.
