Chelsea unsure on Hulk signing

For the past few weeks a lot of Blues fans have seemingly taken for granted the signing of Hulk from Porto, even though the club have not released any information on the subject. It would now appear as though the transfer is certainly not a foregone conclusion, with Hulk’s agent Teodoro Fonseca stating that there are other parties interested in the 25-year-old and also that his client is still happy to remain in Portugal.

There have been intense rumours over the last few weeks that a deal has been arranged with Hulk, with Blues midfielder Ramires even going as far as saying that he believes a package has been agreed with his international teammate. However, agent Fonseca has now dismissed any such claims, stating that nothing has been agreed and there are several interested parties.

He told the Record, “The Blues are not the only European club interested and at the moment it all depends on Porto. I am in permanent contact with president Pinto Da Costa but there have been no advances on this subject. The club want him to stay and we have received the offer of a new deal. If Hulk stays in Porto then there is no problem as he is happy in Porto. He has had three years of interest from big European clubs and he still plays in Portugal.”

The news will certainly come to a blow to Chelsea supporters, who were hoping that the talented Brazilian would link up with other high profile recruits Marko Marin and Eden Hazard. However, with Roberto Di Matteo poised to be made the permanent chief of Stamford Bridge over the next few days, the Romanian may have other transfers up his sleeve as he aims to defend the Champions League trophy that he masterminded only last month.
