Chelsea are considering a £60m bid for Monaco striker Radamel Falcao, the Mirror understands.
The Blues boss has been a long-time admirer of the 27 year old, and will cast an eye on him when Colombia take on Belgium in an international friendly this weekend.
Falcao secured a big money move to the Ligue 1 side in the summer after hitting 52 goals in just 67 La Liga games with Atletico Madrid.
This season, his nine goals in thirteen appearances has helped fire Claudio Ranieiri’s side to third place in the division as they look to secure Champions League football in their first season back in France’s top flight.
Chelsea’s forwards have managed just four goals between them in the Premier League so far this season, with Samuel Eto’o having scored twice, and Andre Schurrle and Fernando Torres chipping in with one each.
Midfielders Oscar and Eden Hazard are currently their top league goal scorers with four a piece.
Meanwhile, Frank Lampard is set to captain England in Friday’s match with Chile, according to the Express.
Steven Gerrard is set to miss out after sustaining a hip injury, so the all-time Blues top scorer will step in on the evening when he will also be recognise as their latest centurion.
