England manager Roy Hodgson has confirmed the Frank Lampard will win his 100th cap for England in this evening’s World Cup Qualifier against Ukraine.
The Chelsea midfielder, along with nine others who started Friday’s win over Moldova, retains his place in Roy Hodgson’s side, who will go a long way to securing their place at next summer’s tournament in Brazil with victory in Kiev.
Lampard, who is also his country’s tenth top scorer of all time with 29 goals, made his debut in the 2-1 friendly victory over Belgium in 1999, and will join Peter Shilton, David Beckham, Billy Wright, Bobby Moore, Bobby Charlton, Steven Gerrard and Blues teammate Ashley Cole as players to have worn the Three Lions 100 times.
Elsewhere, Yossi Benayoun is set to secure a move to Getafe following his release from Chelsea, according to the Mirror.
The Israel international made just fourteen appearances in three seasons for with the Blues, and scored his only goal in a 6-0 win over Wigan Athletic three years ago.
He was however loaned to both Arsenal and his former club West Ham United during that time, while he has also played for Liverpool since moving to the Premier League in 2005.
